YARD & PROPERTY MAINTENANCE REMINDERS

Please help keep the City of Lincolnton safe and healthy for all our residents by keeping lawns mowed and free of trash, junk, and abandoned vehicles!

We can all help keep Lincolnton safe and healthy with THREE SIMPLE STEPS:

   1. KEEP YOUR GRASS MOWED  overgrown grass

Why is this important?

Unmowed grass and weeds attract rodents, snakes, mosquitos, and other pests creating health, safety, and fire hazards for you, your neighbors and especially for children. This is why city regulations require lawns to be mowed. If your grass gets higher than 12 inches, you’re in violation of the city’s rules.   (Sec. 12-6002. - NUISANCES PROHIBITED AND ENUMERATION.)

junk pile2.    DISCARD TRASH AND JUNK PILES FROM YOUR YARD

Why is this important?

Accumulations of trash and junk provide hiding places and nest sites for mice and rats and attract mosquitos and other pests creating the perfect habitat for snakes.  The city does not allow the accumulation of trash or junk in yards because of the health, safety, and fire hazards they create.

Items that don’t fit in your city rollout bin may be taken to the County landfill with a few exceptions like electronics and scrap tires.  The County also has seven convenience sites located throughout the County.

3.    REMOVE JUNKED OR ABANDONED VEHICLES FROM YOUR YARD

Why is this important?

Junked or abandoned vehicles get overgrown with weeds, collect pools of water, become a breeding ground for mosquitos and attract mice, rats, and snakes.  The city does not allow junked or abandoned vehicles in yards because of the health, safety, and fire hazard they create.

With these three simple steps, we can all do our part to keep everyone safe and healthy.

To report any violations, please contact the Lincoln County Code Enforcement Office at 704-736-8729.

Your neighbors and the City of Lincolnton thank you!
