City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation Update

[ARCHIVED] Parks/Facilities Update - Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Due to ongoing icy conditions, the following updates are in effect to help keep residents safe:


❄️ Park Closures:

  • City Park

  • First Federal Park

  • Highland Drive Park

These parks will remain closed until parking lot conditions improve.


⚠️ Trail Advisory:

  • The Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail is open, but use caution and proceed at your own risk. Some sections remain icy and dangerous.


✅ Open Facilities:

  • Lentz Recreation Center

  • Betty G. Ross Park

These locations are currently open, though icy spots may remain in shady areas and the outdoor courts. Please use care while visiting.


🚻 Restroom Update:

  • Bathrooms located at the ballfield concession stand area at Betty G. Ross Park will remain closed at this time.


🏐 Program & Event Cancellations:

  •  All youth sports practices and games scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026 are cancelled. Please keep in touch with your child's coach, as they will relay additional information.
