Child Safety Seat Inspections

Lincolnton Fire Department has trained professionals that can check an existing child safety seat or install a new child safety seat. These technicians have received numerous hours of training on how to properly install these seats.

North Carolina Child Safety Law

North Carolina law requires all passengers in a vehicle to buckle up. Children are required to use a car seat or booster seat until they are at least 8 years old or 80 pounds (whichever comes first) and the vehicle seat belt fits properly on its own. Keep children under age 13 in a rear seat of the vehicle and choose the best protection for a child based on his or her age, height and weight by following these steps:
